Zenith states that Georges Favre-Jacot established the brand in 1865. The brand says he created the first integrated watch manufacture in Switzerland by bringing the different watchmaking crafts under a single roof. Zenith also says its manufacture has remained in its original location in Le Locle since 1865 and expanded into several buildings over time.
On its heritage and manufacture pages, Zenith says it received the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition for the Zenith calibre, and that the Manufacture later adopted Zenith as its name. The manufacture page also says that between 1903 and the end of the 1960s, Zenith won 2,333 awards, filed over 300 patents, and designed many movements in numerous variations. The same page says Le Locle is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its industrial architecture and urbanism, and that Zenith contributed to that setting by building what it describes as the first Manufacture in watchmaking history.
Collections shown on the site include CHRONOMASTER, DEFY, ELITE, G.F.J., ICONS, and PILOT. The ELITE page identifies Elite Classic and Elite Moonphase models. The watches pages also show lines such as Chronomaster Sport, Defy Skyline, and Defy Diver.
The site lists Zenith as ZENITH Branch of LVMH Manufactures S.A., 34 rue des Billodes, 2400 Le Locle, Switzerland. Its manufacture page states that Zenith equips all its watches exclusively with its own developed and manufactured mechanical movements.
