About Stuhrling

Stührling says its story began with Henry Fisher’s interest in horology and a 1999 trip to Switzerland. On its history page, the company says Fisher identified a gap between elegant watch design and high retail pricing. The same page says that after fourteen months of research, Stührling inaugurated its own factory, sold 22,386 watches in its first year, and by 2015 was projected to ship more than one million timepieces.

The official site does not document awards, patents, or named technical firsts in the material reviewed here. It does describe internal milestones and service operations, including a repair department staffed by watchmakers with more than 65 years of collective experience and a spare parts center with more than 1.6 million individually distinct parts. The site also states that as of January 2015, Stührling watches were sold in more than 120 countries and territories.

Collections shown on the site have included Depthmaster, Depthmaster Heritage, Maritimer, Regatta, Meridian, Cobia, Forti, Astral, and Oceana. Product and collection pages also show automatic and quartz watches, including examples described as Swiss Automatic, GMT, chronograph, skeleton, and diver models.

The site reviewed here does not clearly identify a present-day corporate headquarters. It does state that the warranty on new watches is valid for two years from the date of purchase. Product pages also state that watches and pens purchased through Stuhrling.com are covered by a 30-day return policy, and the warranty and repairs page says customers may pick up repaired watches at the company’s repair center in Brooklyn, New York.
