Smith & Wesson says it has been based in Springfield, Massachusetts since the company was incorporated in 1852. On its company history page, the brand traces later milestones including the 1965 introduction of the Model 60 revolver, described there as the first stainless steel handgun manufactured by Smith & Wesson, and the 2005 debut of the M&P pistol series.
Smith & Wesson's website also documents a watch product line. In a December 8, 2004 news release, the company said it had added new tritium watches to its Tactical Watch collection through licensee CampCo, Inc. of Los Angeles, California. That release says the watches used Swiss component quartz movements, were water resistant to 200 meters, and were offered with stainless steel, titanium, black rubber, or black nylon bands.
Documented Smith & Wesson product lines and collections have included the Tactical Watch collection and the M&P series named on the company's history and investor pages. The watch release does not present a broader watch catalog on the official site, so only that collection can be verified from the cited material.
Smith & Wesson announced on September 30, 2021 that it was moving its headquarters and significant elements of its operations to Maryville, Tennessee in 2023. The same release said the Springfield, Massachusetts facility would remain operational and that the relocation would not affect operations in Houlton, Maine.
