PRO TREK is a Casio watch brand that began in 1995. Casio says it was created by adapting the company’s original sensing technologies for outdoor use. The first PRO TREK watch was the DPX-500, which used Triple Sensor functions to measure compass bearing, barometric pressure, altitude, and temperature. Casio’s history page also says the brand established its identity during a mountain-climbing boom in Japan.
Casio’s PRO TREK history pages document a series of milestones for the line. They include the 1999 PRT-1GPJ, described there as the world’s first wristwatch with a GPS sensor based on a Casio survey as of 1999, and the 2005 PRW-1000, identified as the first solar-powered, radio-controlled PRO TREK. The same history pages also show the 2022 PRW-61 with a case, band, and case back made with bio-based resin.
Casio’s PRO TREK pages show collections and model groupings such as 30th Anniversary models, PRW-B1000, PRW-6900, PRW-35, PRG-340, and PRJ-B001. Across those product pages, Casio lists features including Triple Sensor, solar charging, radio control, Smartphone Link, tide graph, moon data, and sunrise and sunset display.
PRO TREK is part of Casio Computer Co., Ltd., which lists its headquarters at 6-2, Hon-machi 1-chome, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 151-8543, Japan. Casio’s company data page lists 8,259 employees as of March 31, 2026. The international PRO TREK site also includes a Store Search function.
