Nixon says it has been making watches since 1998. An interview published on the company site identifies Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna as co-founders. In that interview, they say The Don was Nixon’s highest positioned watch when the brand first launched into retail in the summer of 1998. Nixon’s About page also highlights Time Teller, 51-30 Chrono, Sentry, and Frankie.
On its About page, Nixon says it has earned multiple design patents. In a 2026 story on its site, Nixon says the Locking Looper is its patented watch band closure system under U.S. Patent No. 6,830,166, and that it was invented by Andy Laats and Kirk James. Nixon also says the Time Teller, Sentry, and 51-30 Chrono are three of its best-selling watch models of all time.
Collections and product lines shown on Nixon’s site include Time Teller, Sentry, 51-30 Chrono, Regulus, Frankie, Re-Run, Siren, Corporal, Fremont 40, Stinger 44, Station Chrono, and Oco 44. The site also groups watches into analog, digital, and surf and tide categories, and it offers custom watches. Nixon has dedicated collection pages for lines such as Sentry and Regulus.
Nixon says Encinitas, California remains its home base. Its customer service page lists phone support at (888) 455-9200, and its FAQ says the Nixon Service Center can service a watch if parts are available. The site sells watches, watch bands, and headwear.
