About Lacoste

Lacoste was founded in 1933 by René Lacoste and André Gillier. On its history page, the company says René Lacoste introduced a flexible, lightweight polo shirt in petit piqué cotton to the tennis court in 1933. The same page says Lacoste became the first brand to feature a logo on its clothing.
