Fabergé traces its origins to 1842, when Gustav Faberge opened a small workshop and jewellery shop on Bolshaya Morskaya Street in St Petersburg. The brand’s history page states that he changed the spelling of the family name to Fabergé. In 1872, Peter Carl Fabergé took over his father’s jewellery business and, with his younger brother Agathon, developed it into an internationally recognised brand. A Fabergé article on the site states that the Russian Revolution of 1917 brought an abrupt end to the House of Fabergé.
The site documents two Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awards for Fabergé watches. It states that the Lady Compliquée Peacock won the High-Mechanical award in 2015. It also states that the Visionnaire DTZ Rose Gold won the Travel Time category in 2016. Fabergé further states that it opened its first timepieces workshop in Geneva in 2016, from which watchmakers encase watches and were expected to assemble complex Fabergé movements.
For watches, documented collections have included Compliquée, Visionnaire, Dalliance and Eggsistence. The site’s exceptional timepieces pages also document Dalliance Libertine I and II watches. Today, Fabergé has a London store presence. Its terms and conditions state that purchases made online or at its London store are sold by Fabergé (UK) Limited, whose registered office is 5th Floor, 111 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0SR. The FAQ page states that Fabergé has boutiques in London, Dubai, Macau and Kyiv, as well as a network of over 130 authorised retailers worldwide. The same page states that it ships jewellery, watches and objets d’art to a list of countries that totals more than 45 destinations.
